About Me
Ruggedly handsome “Happily Married SOUL.“ Uniquely indescribable. A little rough around the edges, kind and loving inside. Active. Enjoy the outdoors, taking the back roads and exploring the outback. Romantic, affectionate, a fabulous kisser, and a hugger. Everything works (without pills I might add) and can hold my own. Heart is young and at times the body rebels, but it likes to be touched and tightly held.
A country boy at heart, don’t smoke or drink, no drugs of any kind, and thankful to be in excellent physical, mental, and emotional condition. I imagine myself as a quiet, shy, bashful type, but have been told on many occasions that I am far from that. My quiet time is sacred, but always ready for new and exciting experiences. I enjoy the North Country with its beautiful non-humid summers and days that seem to last forever. The exceptional wonders of the four seasons is awesome, but winters are too long and I tend to migrate to warmer climates usually near water.
After my employable years in California terminating as an engineer in the information technology and communications field I am now retired and back to where I was born and raised. A more relaxed existence completing my dream of hand building a log cabin on the shores of Portage Canal a few miles from my boyhood home. Now chasing several undefined dreams with a dream chaser to accompany me. Dreams… where would you be without them.
I am a widower and have fortunately found a friend, partner, and wife that can share time with me, has time to roam, can dream with me, and where the chemistry* roars. She is spontaneous, a little unpredictable, does most of the speaking, and is not too conceited, selfish, or overly materialistic. She does not wish to dominate and respects my time as I respect hers. She has mostly put past disasters behind her, doesn't always look for trouble at the turn, but looks excitedly ahead to what’s around the next bend. She is sufficiently compatible and willing to explore different interests so as not always trying to please, but rather being pleased and content by experiencing and doing the things that make it so.
The BASICS:
Veteran - U.S.N. (Aviation)
Married Widower - Moving on.
3 children - All - Own families. 4 grand kids - Grown. Parents - RIP.
Time - All my own, more than money.
Money – Enough, less than time.
Dexterity - High. Quite handy.
Age – Enjoying the downward slide of life.
Ethnicity – Finnish / Scandinavian. At one time blond hair and red beard, but now the hair is hard to find and the beard has lost its reddish shine.
Body type – Average. Holding up and seems like I exercise less each day.
Height – 6 ft. Weight - 175 lbs. Eyes – Softest Blue. Hair – Gray, balding.
Faith - Lutheran by birth and confirmation. I do not have a need. The world is my church. I have my beliefs and try to live by the golden rule. Believe and let believe.
Smoke, Drink - No Way. Sometimes wine with dinner and a beer after sauna.
Occupation - Electronic Engineering. Information Technologies. Developing, contracting, and construction. Top honors at the School of Hard Knocks and had no interest in the class of Office Politics. I was caught up in a corporation buy up and transferred from my office in San Francisco overlooking Market St. and the Bay to a cubicle with no windows in the stock yards of Omaha. Culture shock! Heart wasn’t in it. Quit and assumed early retirement.
Favorites - Water… Ocean, lakes, or mountain streams. Nature in the raw. Comfortable clothes. Baked trout. Red. Most music. Leather. Need for speed. The absence of crowded highways, long lines, continuous noise, and long waits. A wonderful and beautiful spirit. Actually… This is a list that has no limits. It could be anywhere of enjoyment and satisfaction, but my favorite would have to be in the arms of a beautiful soul taken to heights I've never been and suspended somewhere between always and never end.
For Fun - Boating. Motorcycle touring, but now looking for a convertible sports car. Motor home road trips. Exploring and traveling the back roads. Dining and Dancing. Building the creations of my mind. Try almost anything once. Shortening up the bucket list. Exploring all the possibilities of what to do with the rest of my life.
*After thought: Chemistry is hard to convey in just a glossary of written words. A combination of everything and nothing. It's there or it isn’t. With it everything else seems to take care of itself, without it everything else has to be taken care of. You can share time enjoying the experience rather than constantly working at it.
NOTE: We currently winter in the West/Southwest area with our motor home towing our jeep. We enjoy summers staying in my log cabin and boating on the Gitchi Gummi (Lake Superior). In other words summers in Yooperland and winters somewhere warmer. You never know what life will bring, but we know life won't bring it forever.
