Räisänen Ancestral Farm Area Taivalkoski, Finland
The first six pictures are on the Räisänen farm across the road from where my Grandfather was born. The next six pictures are the homes of the relatives that showed us the area of my grandfather’s early childhood before immigrating to America. The remaining pictures are of this same area with the oldest housing the artifacts of earlier times. There are bullet holes in the doors of this building as well as others from the Nazis occupation of Finland during World War II.
